Valentines Day Cocktails
Valentine's
day is a time to celebrate being with somebody special. That
being the case, bar hopping is out on this special day. But
some couples still want to enjoy a nice mixed drink to relax
and enjoy their lover's company. Here are some cocktail recipes
which have sprung up expressly for the purpose of promoting
love and passion.
A Cupid is a good drink for a little
shot into your lovers heart:
3 ounces of sherry
1 egg
1 teaspoon fine sugar
Pinch of cayenne pepper
3 or 4 ice cubes
Combine all these ingredients together in a cocktail shaker,
shake vigorously, and then strain into a cocktail glass.
With
a name Like "Love" this drink is bound to
reveal emotions:
2 ounces of sloe gin
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon raspberry juice
1 egg white
3 or 4 ice cubes
Again, just combine all these ingredients into a cocktail
shaker and shake, then strain into a cocktail glass.
Now the margarita is normally a tropical
drink, but if fixed in February, it can still cause some heat:
1/2 ounce Quervo Gold Tequila
1/2 ounce Quervo 1800 Tequila
1 ounce Ron Bacardi Gold Rum
3 ounces Lime juice
caked salt
3 or 4 ice cubes
Pour
the two types of tequila into a glass filled with ice, then
add the rum. Add in the lime juice, stir thoroughly and rim
the glass with the salt, add a slice of lime if you feel like
it.
And finally if you just want to skip all that
and get right to the passion, here's the old standby passion
drink, sex on the beach:
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce peach schnapps
2 ounces orange juice
2 ounces cranberry juice
Pour into highball glass filled with ice, stir well, chill,
and serve.
So if you and your lover want something a little stronger
than wine to go with your candlelight dinner this Valentine's
day, try one of these drinks, and have a very happy Valentine's
Evening.
